Terms and Conditions for Zero to Solo aeroplanes

1. The ZERO to SOLO course has been designed to offer all aspiring pilots the chance to achieve that first big milestone in flight training. Whilst many of our students reach this within the hours included in the package, Cabair Flying Schools can make NO guarantees that an individual will make a solo flight within the hours included in the course.

2. Learning to fly is very much ability driven with students progressing at different rates, so reaching your first solo flight will be at the sole discretion of your instructor and the resident Chief Flying Instructor.

3. The ZERO to SOLO course includes three (3) months Standard Membership. Your membership starts from the date of purchase of the course. The course is valid for 3 months and the course fees are non refundable.

4. All participants for the ZERO to SOLO course are required to be in possession of a valid Class 2 medical. The medical can be obtained before your start date or during your course but an individual must have their medical before a solo flight can be taken.

5. A student is also required to have completed and passed their Air Law Ground School exam before a solo flight can be taken. The course includes your first attempt but any further re-takes will be charged at £35.25 inc VAT.

6. Two items of identification are required to be seen before you can fly: A passport or photographic driving licence and a copy of a utility bill (telephone, water, gas, electricity).

7. Always contact the school on the date of your lesson and before you leave home, to check the weather is suitable for your lesson to take place. Very often the weather can look great from the ground but it is not appropriate for your type of flight. Conversely, the weather may not look great on the ground but it is perfect for your lesson to take place. Failing to call and then not showing because the weather looked poor will result in a cancellation charge being incurred.

8. Lesson Cancellations: Please try to give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your lesson. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required by Cabair Flying Schools to cancel your booking without incurring a cancellation fee of £35 + VAT. Any cancellation fee incurred and charged to your account must be settled in full before your next flight can be taken.

9. Please ensure adequate time is allowed in order to book your lessons. Weekends are often our busiest times and therefore you may need to book 2-3 weeks in advance to guarantee your time. In addition, please always allow enough time to travel to your lesson on the day so you are not late. Lateness puts our program behind and disrupts other students. If you arrive late, even with previous notice, there is no guarantee we will be able to give you your full time slot as others will be waiting for the aircraft and instructor.

10. Prices for the ZERO to SOLO course are correct and inclusive as at 1st January 2010, but are not exempt from any price changes. If any price changes are due this will ultimately affect the total hours flying an individual can expect after purchasing the course.

11. The price for the ZERO to SOLO course does not include the lecture programme, ground exams (except for Air Law which IS included), fuel surcharges (if applicable), landing & approach fees (if applicable) or medical.
