Cabair are delighted to offer experienced pilots a Taildragger CITABRIA aircraft G-BLHS for flights with London School of Flying at Elstree Aerodrome (on Saturdays only).
The term “taildragger” is firmly rooted in aviation folklore and is affectionately used to describe airplanes with a tailwheel. Although a minor difference to most aircraft flown at our flying schools, there are huge differences in the way the aircraft handles - particularly during takeoff, landing, and taxiing. Flying a tail-dragger is both exciting and rewarding.
Remember - some of the most famous aeroplanes were taildraggers! Spitfire, Hurricaine, Mustang, ME 109, Lancaster, DC3 - to name but a few. Nothing can compare with the feeling of the tail rising just before you leave the runway.
